Born at Nambour Hospital in 1988, Sarah Kwarcianyi (nee Brown) has spent her entire life in the Glasshouse Country region she proudly calls home.
Growing up in Beerwah on Greber Road as one of eight children, life was busy, noisy and full of adventure.
But when Sarah was just 12 years old, tragedy struck with the death of her father, leaving her mother to look after their large family.
Despite the challenges, Sarah thrived at Beerwah State School and later Beerwah State High School, where she achieved strong academic results and excelled in athletics.
Like many young people, she experienced a difficult period after leaving school, but life took a positive turn when she reunited with her high school sweetheart, Lewis Kwarcianyi.
The pair married in Caloundra in 2010 and began building their future together. Starting out was far from glamorous.
As a young family with two children, they rented the cheapest unit they could find in Beerwah on Kello Road. After the 2011 floods, they moved to a townhouse on Pine Camp Road before purchasing their first home in Glass House Mountains in 2012 for $278,000.
Sarah’s lifelong passion for dance led her to begin teaching classes at Glasshouse Christian College in 2015.
What started as a small opportunity quickly grew into a thriving business and Masterpiece Dance moved to their own leased premises on Turner Street in 2018, where they stayed for eight years until further growth meant another move was needed.
In 2025, after months of searching, Sarah and Lewis purchased the former Campbell’s Upholstery and Beerwah Mechanical sheds between Beerwah Parade and Free Street.
In a twist of fate, those very businesses were advertising on the front page of the Glasshouse Country News in 2002 when a young Sarah appeared on the cover celebrating her silver medal in high jump at the National Championships in Adelaide.
Today, Sarah is raising four children in the same community that shaped her.
They attend the same local schools and athletics club she once did.
Her commitment to creating opportunities for young people remains at the heart of everything she does, helping local children grow in confidence, learn valuable skills and build lasting friendships.
For Sarah, Glasshouse Country has never simply been where she lives, it is where her story began, and where she is investing into the next generation to create their own path.
