A big ‘Bug Day Out’

THE Mooloolah River Landcare Bug Day Out attracted families, nature enthusiasts and curious youngsters on Saturday, June 6, for a close-up look at the fascinating world of insects.

Rainforest researcher, Dr Charlotte Raven, showcased a range of specimens collected during fieldwork in North Queensland’s tropical rainforests, including giant crickets, beetles and stick insects.

Visitors had the chance to learn about insect conservation, rainforest ecology and the important role insects play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

The interactive event sparked plenty of interest among children and adults alike, encouraging a greater appreciation of the natural world.
