A truly traditional Christmas,
Are the ones that are worthwhile…
Those little get togethers,
That leaves you with a smile…
The presents that were given,
Were the ones we made ourselves…
None of these came from Santa,
Or any of his elves…
Someone baked a cake,
While others made a card…
It was just a simple gesture,
That really isn’t hard…
I remember sampling home brew,
From the father in law on Christmas day…
That was quite a drop
We were jingling all the way…
Just a little bit of thought,
Imagination was the key…
That’s what we all used,
For those presents beneath the tree…
You would always get a laugh…
As you tried your very best…
To make you’re little present…
Stand out from all the rest…
Some were wrapped in newspaper,
Then put into a bag…
With another layer of paper,
And a fancy Christmas tag…
So spread that Christmas cheer,
Add your special little touch…
It will mean the world to someone else
It really isn’t much…
Merry Christmas
