I WAS jetsetting around the country on Monday, as you do and after a particularly hard landing heard the strangest buzzing noise throughout the cabin.
I couldn’t place it and genuinely thought a wing had come loose or something similar.
The buzzing noise just kept getting louder until the plane had slowed down and I turned on my phone. Aaah, it was the national emergency alert.
Which told me two things:
Most people secretly turn on their phones before they should when flying; and secondly, we are all being tracked by the government and need to revolt sooner rather than later.
Could someone please lead the way.
Baby bottler of an idea
I love how AI is going to solve all the world’s problems. The smartest billionaire in the room, Sam Altman, gave some free advice to parents over the weekend.
According to Dr Sam, mums and dads worried about communicating with their kids should do the following: “Connect your family calendars and explain your kids’ interests,” Mr Altman wrote.
“Every morning for the drive to school, have it make a podcast that talks about one kid’s soccer game that afternoon, one kid’s upcoming birthday, some news, etc.”
Thanks dad. Or, perhaps, I could not do that and do the school run in deafening silence because these infuriating little ratbags don’t deserve another sceric of my valuable breath.
It reminded me of the book everyone gets before their first child: What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
They need a revised edition with an AI chapter. None of this will matter for much longer. We’re not even making enough babies to replace each other because everyone is too freaked out about the state of the world.
