BEERWAH and the wider Glass House region are entering an exciting new chapter.
As our community continues to grow, so too does the need for the infrastructure that will support local families, businesses and future generations.
While change can sometimes feel daunting, I believe this is a time of great opportunity for our region, and we have a responsibility to ensure growth is carefully planned and delivered in a way that reflects the values that make our community so special.
Major projects such as The Wave, the new Beerwah Station and the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in our region’s future.
The Wave, in particular, will be transformational for our region, delivering a heavy passenger rail connection from Beerwah to Birtinya, integrated with a metro-style service linking key destinations including Maroochydore and the Sunshine Coast Airport.
It will provide faster, more reliable public transport, reduce congestion and better connect our community to jobs, education and essential services.
Imagine jumping on the train for a hospital appointment, a beach day with the family or a new job opportunity, all with affordable 50 cent fares and without the stress of traffic and parking. Importantly, growth does not mean losing our identity.
We can embrace new opportunities while enhancing the existing character, heritage and lifestyle that make Beerwah and the Glass House region such a great place to call home.
The challenge is ensuring we get the balance right, preserving the qualities we cherish while delivering the infrastructure that our community needs for generations to come.
As your local State Member, I am committed to listening to our community throughout this journey.
I understand there will be differing views on these projects, and I encourage residents to continue sharing their thoughts, ideas and concerns with me.
By working together, and by working constructively across all levels of government, we can protect what is important to our community while building a stronger future for the next generation.
