2025 has been a year of exciting change for Aura, with new places, new faces, and plenty of moments that brought our community closer together.
Education took a big step forward with Notre Dame College opening its doors, giving families more choice close to home. For the youngest learners, Goodstart Early Learning created a nurturing start in Nirimba.
Beyond the classroom, we embraced active living with the launch of the Aura Active Project and celebrated connection through events like Youth Fest and our ninth birthday scavenger hunt. These moments weren’t just fun – they brought neighbours together and strengthened the sense of belonging that makes Aura special.
Our green spaces continued to grow, with new parks like Mulberry, Glider, and Hilltop becoming favourite spots for play. Sporting life got a boost too, with Baringa Sports Complex and Nirimba Rugby League Grounds opening later in the year.
Behind the scenes, we invested in the future – supporting 21 local organisations with nearly $500,000 in funding and starting work on exciting projects like Aura Parklands and Aura Home + Life.
Adding to this momentum, we’re thrilled to announce that FDC Construction & Fitout has been appointed to deliver the first stage of the Aura Town Centre. This vibrant shopping hub will become the heart of our growing community, offering around 16,300 square metres of retail space, leading supermarkets, and 55 specialty shops and kiosks. It will also feature inviting dining and entertainment spaces. Once complete, the first stage of the Town Centre will bring even more opportunities to shop, dine, and connect right here in Aura.
