LOCAL icon and family-owned bakery Beefy’s has just had their award-winning status confirmed! In this, their 25th birthday year, they’ve taken home two Gold and two Silver medals in the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition 2022.
It was their Gluten Free Steak, Bacon and Cheese Pie and their Signature Steak Pie that claimed Gold by the judges. While their Steak and Cracked Pepper Pie and their soon-to-be-released Vegan Plant-Based Mince Pie both scored Silver.
But for Beefy’s, it’s always been more about their local community and what they can give back.
“For our customers, it’s about giving them bigger, better and beefier pies every time, and friendly and personal service,” says Beefy’s Mark Hobbs.
“Then, it’s through initiatives like the Pie of Origin that our amazing customers help us to give back to the sick kids at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. This year, we raised more than $23,000 through the sale of our Limited-Edition Big Queenslander Pies.”
In the seven years that Beefy’s has been part of Pie of Origin, they have donated almost $125,000 to the Hospital. This year the funds will go towards fun zones and entertainment options for the kids.
