BeeGees masters of the field

BEEGEES Masters players showed they’ve still got the touch after two teams won grand finals at the Sunshine Coast Masters Football Tournament on October 18-20. Both the over 30s and 40s women’s teams secured victory at the event held in Kawana. 

Eight BeeGees players made up the winning over 30s women team ‘Sunny Coast Mix Up’ and fi ve playing in the winning over 40s women team ‘Un-beerlievable’. The over 30s and 40s women’s teams went the whole weekend undefeated with zero goals conceded across the weekend. Both women’s teams scored 22 goals each. 

BeeGees communications manager, Tasia Higgins, played in the over 30s side and said it was fun but competitive. “Sunny Coast Mix Up went back to back with grand final wins this year,” she said. 

“It’s just a fun weekend, it was hot conditions but we dug deep, and we had fun playing with and for each other. “It was good to be out there playing again and it’s good when you have a good group of girls as well.” 

The over 35s men made up of 14 BeeGees players, the Silverfoxes, did not progress past the round games.
