RESIDENTS of Beerwah and the wider Glass House Mountains region will soon have access to the town’s first MRI service, with Sunshine Coast Radiology announcing a major expansion of its existing Beerwah clinic.
The expansion represents a significant investment in local healthcare and will allow patients to receive advanced diagnostic imaging closer to home, reducing the need to travel so far for MRI appointments.
Sunshine Coast Radiology said the project reflects its commitment to improving access, convenience and quality care for the growing Beerwah community.
“Beerwah is a vibrant and expanding region, and we are proud to continue investing in local healthcare services,” Fiona Davis, Acting General Manager of Sunshine Coast Radiology said.
“Introducing the first MRI service to Beerwah means patients will be able to access world-class imaging technology in their own community, with less travel, shorter wait times and greater convenience.”
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is one of the most advanced diagnostic tools available, used to assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of conditions including sporting injuries, spinal issues, neurological concerns, joint pain and many other health conditions.
The expanded clinic will now provide bone mineral densitometry whilst enhancing the overall patient experience, with upgraded facilities designed to create a more modern, comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, referrers and staff.

“This expansion is about more than adding equipment – it’s about creating a better healthcare experience for local residents. From the moment patients walk through the door, we want them to feel supported, comfortable and confident they are receiving the highest standard of care.”
The addition of MRI services is expected to benefit local GPs, specialists and allied health providers, who will have faster access to advanced imaging to help guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
The addition of new services complements the capacity to service CT Scans, Ultrasounds, X-Rays and Interventional Procedures at the Beerwah location.
Sunshine Coast Radiology has proudly supported the Sunshine Coast community nearly 20 years and says the Beerwah expansion is another important step in meeting the healthcare needs of one of the region’s fastest-growing areas.
The current clinic at 72 Simpson Street, Beerwah will remain open throughout the extension process.
Construction and installation works are now commencing in the adjacent premises, with further updates on opening timelines to be shared with the community in coming months.
