THE Beerwah Masters Swim Team have dived into the new year, and members are keen to train, compete and stretch their limits again this year.
Swimmer Kylie Cornock said after the success their team had last year, particularly at the Pan Pacific Masters Games, they are getting ready for their first swim meet of the year at UQ on March 5.
“Unlike most race meets held in Olympic-sized 50m pools, this event is held in a short course 25m pool,” she said.
“This format offers fun and fast opportunities to race short sprints, the 100m individual medley, and the regular longer races.”
And with the new year, comes two new members to the team, swimmer Angela Reedman-Polinski and the new Swim Fit Beerwah head coach, Courtney Anderson.
Kylie said the whole team, including the new additions which she welcomes, are ready to get back into competitive swimming.
“The team is excited to see them challenging themselves in the Masters arena and can’t wait for them to join in competitive races this year,” she said.
“New faces in the adult squad are always welcome and anyone who loves swimming is encouraged to come along to keep fit and enjoy time with fellow swimmers of all ages.”
