BEERWAH Stationery’s new owner is promising to bring an artistic flair to the outlet after purchasing it form Kylie York in late June.
New owner Kym Garth had only recently moved to the hinterland from Brisbane and was struggling to find the right project until she heard Kylie’s business was on the market.
“The minute I walked in I was blown away, I have always loved stationery because I’m an artist, so I love colourful things,” she said.
“Kylie has just built up this beautiful reputation and the people are lovely, and I just love it.”
Having previous business experience along with printing and administration skills, Kym took the plunge saying she had plans to introduce professional quality art supplies and other art workshops.
“I’m going to keep the business exactly how it’s going, but I want to involve more local artists so they can bring in and display their artwork, I really want to engage with the community that way,” she said.
“I want to add some haberdashery and that is going to be my expanding for now and I think that is going to be enough for me until I get my grasp on everything.
“I’ve been talking to all the people coming in and they are so excited for me to be adding that sort of stuff.”
Kym said she is very excited to own this business now and wants to be a big part of the community.
“I just really want to be a part of the community and hopefully offer something that and keep offering something new,” she said.
“I’m excited in where I’m going to go… and this is my purpose to wake up in the morning.”
