BEERWAH Surgery is proud to announce that, as advertised, all consultations at the practice will now be bulk billed.
This important decision has been made with our community in mind. For many years, Medicare rebates have not kept up with inflation, and at one stage were frozen for around seven years. It’s been a challenge for local medical practices to remain sustainable under these conditions, but with the introduction of the new GP rebate incentive, Beerwah Surgery has decided to trial full bulk billing so that everyone can access quality healthcare when they need it.
“We’ve always bulk billed pensioners, healthcare card holders, and children under 16 to try to be affordable,” Dr Bond said. “It is our desire to ensure everyone who needs medical consultations will be able to access excellent primary medical health care. We do understand how difficult the current economic environment is, and people are struggling to make ends meet, hence the change in policy.”
All consultations will now be bulk billed, while some procedures such as iron infusions and other higher-cost treatments may still attract a fee. Beerwah Surgery believes it is currently the only medical practice along the railway corridor, and as far east as Caloundra, offering full bulk billing for consultations.
Locally owned and proudly independent for almost 42 years, Beerwah Surgery continues to focus on caring for the community rather than corporate profits.
“We’re not part of a corporate group — we’re local doctors looking after local people,” Dr Bond said.
The practice invites all long-term, new, and returning patients to make an appointment via the HotDoc app or by phoning 5494 0400.
