A 17-year-old boy from Beerwah has been charged with murder following the death of a 57-year-old man in Warana earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to a Napalle Street home around 7.35pm on Monday, 14 July, after a neighbour found the man unresponsive in his front yard. He was declared dead at the scene.
Police allege the man, identified as Zdravko Bilic, sustained fatal stab wounds during a disturbance at the property sometime between Sunday night and Monday evening.
Following an investigation, Sunshine Coast detectives charged the Beerwah teenager and a 15-year-old boy from West Woombye with murder. Both were due to appear in Maroochydore Childrens Court on Wednesday, 17 July.
Detectives established a crime scene at the Warana address and are continuing to appeal for information, including CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between late Sunday and early Monday.
The victim’s partner, who was away for work, reportedly raised concerns after not hearing from him.
Police have not released details about the connection between the teenagers and the victim.
Investigations are ongoing.
