THE Beerwah Writers Group were warmly welcomed back to the Beerwah Library for their twice-monthly meetings.
“Covid caused havoc with restricted numbers able to meet safely, and we were lucky to find the Glasshouse Country Hub as a safe meeting place over the last year,” spokesperson Patty Beecham said. “However, we are writers and belong in the library!”
The Beerwah Writers Group supports local writers from Beerwah, the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Glasshouse Mountains, Landsborough, Maleny, and surrounding areas.
The Beerwah Writers Group, was formed over 16 years ago, with members sharing their writing and poetry with like-minded writers.
They meet on the second and fourth Friday of the month from 10am until 12noon in the Meeting Room at the Beerwah Library. Members pay an attendance fee of $4. This includes complimentary tea/coffee, refreshments. New members are welcome and encouraged; a yearly subscription of $5 applies.
Members share experiences of writing, poetry and publishing, and enjoy regular guest speakers. Several members have published their work and their books are available for sale to the public through our website www.beerwahwriters.com
The next meeting will be on Friday June 24 from 10am–12noon at Beerwah Library.
