Boredom Busters

Setting the stage alight these school holidays
ACTING Up! Youth Theatre Academy will set the stage alight these school holidays with a lush new production of ‘Robin Hood in the Greenwood’. Featuring a talented teenage cast of 23 actors, this spell-binding piece of family entertainment promises to be an unforgettable live theatre experience. Six entertaining and exhilarating performances will run from Wednesday-Saturday, September 22-25 at the Lind Theatre Nambour.
This sparkling new version of the classic tale is written and directed by Acting Up’s resident playwright Naomi Clasohm. It features loads of humour, swash-buckling action and pathos to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. With lush costuming and clever set designs to depict the ancient Sherwood Forest, this adventurous tale will have something to appeal to everyone from entertaining dialogue to sword fighting, romance and more. The show also features a delightful musical rendition of ‘The Pied Piper’ during the curtain-raiser with an energetic junior cast performance showcasing the kooky, highly colourful, rat-infested town of Hamlin. The show is not suitable for children under five. Tickets will be available at the door or online at www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=799553&
