Learning, wellbeing and fun at Beerwah State School
PRINCIPAL Mr Scott Bowden and staff at Beerwah State School are excited to welcome students back for Term 3. The school’s philosophy is to support students to be their very best and to set them up to lead a life of choice, not chance.
Beerwah State School’s two main priorities are:
- Delivering an engaging English curriculum aligned to the Australian Curriculum achievement standards through expert pedagogical practices and whole-school frameworks to “Open up ‘A’ level thinking”.
- Reviewing and refining whole-school processes to support the social and emotional wellbeing of students and staff.
Last semester, the school was delighted with students’ results, achieving well above state-wide targets. A wide variety of programs and activities cater for the needs and learning styles of every student. The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen/Garden program is thriving, with a focus on healthy eating and good food choices. Students learn to grow produce and use it in cooking classes, making poke bowls, stir fries, salads, muffins and more.
Numerous lunchtime clubs are also on offer, including computer club, art club, soccer club, library, and handball. Classrooms are state-of-the-art and equipped with smart boards to enhance teaching and learning. The school provides many co-curricular and extracurricular activities to motivate students and foster a love of learning.
All subjects from the Australian Curriculum are taught in engaging and innovative ways to improve learning outcomes and incorporate technology to create digital citizens equipped with future-ready skills.
Beerwah State School is still accepting enrolments. To organise an enrolment interview, contact the school on 5436 5555.
