AS Queensland celebrates Small Business Month this May, one Glasshouse Country enterprise is emerging as a standout example of local innovation, resilience and growth.
Queensland Posts and Beams, a family-run structural steel business based in Beerwah, is fast cementing its place as a key player in the region’s expanding construction and fabrication sector.
Led by father-and-son team Aaron and Mark Lubert, the company has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliability and a deep commitment to supporting the local community.

Employing 10 local staff, the business prides itself on delivering high-standard structural steel solutions across a wide range of projects from major infrastructure works to bespoke fabrication jobs.
Using only A-grade steel and adhering to strict installation standards, Queensland Posts and Beams has positioned itself as a trusted partner for builders and developers across the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
“Our catchphrase is ‘the backbone of our community’, and we genuinely mean that,” Aaron Lubert said. “By employing local people and working on local projects, we ensure the economic benefits stay right here. That’s how stronger communities are built.”
That focus comes at a pivotal time for South-East Queensland and particularly the Glasshouse Country region, with significant growth reshaping the area.

Major developments such as the expanding Aura community, industrial growth in Beerwah and large-scale transport projects including the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) rail duplication and the proposed Wave public transport initiative are driving demand for skilled local suppliers.
“There’s a real construction boom underway, and we’re well positioned to support it,” Mr Lubert said. “But it’s not just about growth for us, it’s about making sure all local businesses are part of that progress. Strong local supply chains are essential.”
The company’s recent move to a larger premises at 7 Biondi Crescent, Beerwah, marks a significant milestone in its evolution.
Relocating from Yandina has enabled greater operational efficiency and expanded service capabilities, with the new facility offering in-house drafting, advanced CNC processing, fabrication and full installation services.

Despite its rapid growth, Queensland Posts and Beams remains firmly grounded in its community values. The business actively supports local sporting clubs and is a Diamond Partner with the Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce, reinforcing its role as a community-minded employer and contributor.
For co-founder Mark Lubert, working alongside his son adds a personal dimension to the company’s success. “It’s rewarding to build something together,” he said. “We might not always see eye to eye, but we share the same commitment to quality and to looking after our customers.”
As Small Business Month highlights the vital role of local enterprises in driving the state’s economy, Queensland Posts and Beams stands as a clear example of what can be achieved when ambition is focussed not only on constructing steel frameworks, but helping to build a stronger regional future.
