Bunya Dreaming 2026 return

JOIN the bi-annual celebration of the iconic Bunya Tree at Bunya Dreaming, a family-friendly event celebrating Indigenous culture, connection to country, and community. The festival offers a unique opportunity to learn about people’s links to both the physical and spiritual landscape, while building relationships and fostering Reconciliation.
Activities include Bunya feasting, competitions, bushfoods and bush medicine workshops, dance, ceremony, fire, yarning, challenges, and more. Gates open at 10am, with official festivities running from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday, January 31 2026, at Ewen Maddock Dam, hosted by Barung Landcare.
Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, picnic rugs, shade marquees, drinking water, and share fruit or homemade cakes and biscuits to enhance the community spirit.
To protect local wildlife and ensure a safe environment, the event is drug- and alcohol-free, and dogs are not permitted.
Parking is available on-site, with additional spaces at Landsborough train station and shuttle bus access to the event.
Bunya Dreaming acknowledges the Kabi Kabi ancestors for their dedication to maintaining cultural connections, which allow this event to be reclaimed and celebrated today. Tickets and more info via Humanitix.
