Bush Poet’s breakfast

THE Peachester Bush Poet’s Breakfast on Sunday, September 14, brought nearly 100 people together at the Peachester Community Hall for a morning of laughter, verse, and community spirit.

Hosted by local favourite Ian Mackay, the event featured poets Lisa Plucknett, Vyvyan Bloomfield, Brendan O’Shea, Mark Feldman, and James Arthur Warren, alongside music from Phil and Adrienna and a heartfelt performance by Peachester SS student Penny.

Attendees contributed to a Poetry Wall, filling it with their own four-line verses. Organiser Emma Creed praised the collaboration between local groups, saying it made the morning “truly special.”

Audience feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many calling for the breakfast to return in 2026, possibly as a full-day celebration of the spoken word. For updates on next year’s event, visit: facebook.com/PeachesterBushPoetsBreakfast.
