INTERNET sensation Catman Ken was spotted cycling along Roys Road in Beerwah on June 30 as he continued his cross-country journey to Perth, raising money for children’s cancer charities.
Also known as Japanese adventurer Kentaro Jin, Catman Ken began his second walking and cycling fundraising journey in May.
He hopes to reach Perth while spreading awareness for children battling cancer and inspiring communities along the way, saying he wants to be a potential “hero for kids”.
Taking time to chat with locals and pose for photos, Catman Ken was in high spirits as he passed through Beerwah, gratefully accepting donations from supporters.
His first Australian trek saw him walk more than 6,500 kilometres from Carnarvon in Western Australia to the Sydney Opera House, pushing a wheelbarrow filled with supplies.
The journey took just over two years and raised more than $70,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, after children he met along the way inspired him to turn his adventure into a fundraising mission. Catman Ken has built a large online following by documenting his travels, sharing the people he meets and the experiences he encounters across Australia.
