THIS year, we marked a significant milestone for a dear friend—her 50th birthday—by embarking on an unforgettable journey aboard the legendary Ghan train.
Our adventure began with a flight to Adelaide, where we immersed ourselves in the picturesque McLaren Vale region. Here, we savoured exquisite wines, perfectly paired with local cheeses, setting the tone for a celebration filled with indulgence.
Boarding the Ghan was a dream come true. From the moment we stepped on, the experience was nothing short of magical. We were greeted with delightful Australian bubbles, and the seamless check-in process made us feel like royalty.
Enjoying a gourmet lunch while watching the breathtaking landscapes of South Australia glide by was an extraordinary treat for the senses. With all meals, Australian wines, and after-dinner drinks included, we were free to relax and savour every moment.
Our cozy cabin was perfect for our journey, equipped with everything we needed to ensure our comfort. The gentle rocking of the train lulled us into a state of relaxation as we made our way to our next destination.
In Alice Springs, we had the unique opportunity to embark on a hot air balloon ride, offering a bird’s-eye view of the stunning Australian landscape. The panorama was awe-inspiring, showcasing our beautiful country in all its glory.
From there, we travelled to the majestic Uluru, where we marvelled at the iconic rock formation at both sunrise and sunset. Each visit was enhanced by the changing colours that painted the rock, a sight that truly took our breath away.
We even embraced a new way to explore Uluru by segway, adding a dash of adventure to our journey.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the Field of Light dinner, where we dined under a starry sky then walked the stunning display of lights, creating an atmosphere of magic and wonder.
This trip was not just a celebration of a milestone birthday but a beautiful reminder of friendship, adventure, and the incredible experiences that life has to offer.
