Come have a hit with Kenny’s Angels

By Jennifer Kent

DON’T be spooked by Friday the 13th, head along for a fun-filled day at the Beerwah Golf Club for the second annual Kenny’s Angels Charity Golf Day, all in support of Endeavour Foundation.

Kenny’s Angels are made up of local mums Sonia Heilig, Susan Ellwood and Amanda Smyth and are looking forward to hitting the green in their charity fundraising event ahead of the big 2022 Great Endeavour Rally event later the year.

The day will consist of 18 holes, with fun activities along the way and a chance to win some great prizes. Participants can even nominate, through a donation, a pro golfer to take a shot on the green on their behalf.

“We’re excited to this year have a team entering from the Queensland Bulls Masters,” shared Amanda, who is hoping for a great turn out to top last year’s efforts of raising over $8,500.

“What we’ve learned about people and businesses in Glasshouse Country in the past is that they astonish us with their support and generosity, and we’d love for any local businesses that can’t enter a team this year, but who still want to get involved, to donate items to auction on the day.”

The trio of mums – who adopted their name after heading along to a Kenny Rogers concert pre-pandemic – have been raising money, spirits and dust since 2019, and last year took out the win at the 2021 Rally across the Simpson Desert.

For more information on this great local team and their fundraising fun, follow ‘Kenny’s Angels – Great Endeavour Rally’ on Facebook or visit their website www.kennysangels.com.

Teams of four can register of the Charity Golf Day, which kicks off at 10am by contacting Beerwah Golf Club on 5494 0630, or if you’re not part of a team head along at 9am on Friday, May 13 and organisers will endeavour to get you into a team. Sponsorship packages start from $300 per team. If you can’t head along but you’d like to support Kenny’s Angels, donations to the Endeavour Foundation can be made through their website.
