CENTRALISED communication including the need for a local disaster-related Facebook page, were key points raised at a recent disaster network meeting.
The Glasshouse Country Disaster Management Network (GCDMN) held a post-bushfire debrief attended by 30 representatives of local halls, community groups and emergency service agencies earlier this month.
The group shared valuable insights and learnings, and also discussed some of the challenges experienced during recent disaster events.
“This was a valuable meeting for the Network, made up of local community groups, services and businesses, to come together with the disaster management authorities to debrief and learn from the recent bushfires,” Community Praxis coordinater, Natasha Odgers, said.
“By planning together … the more resilient we all will be into the future.”
