Plans for inclusivity project underway
THE Glass House Community Garden held an Inclusivity Workshop on Saturday November 2 in the first of a series of activities to design a garden that can accommodate a wide range of needs and abilities.
It was well attended by enthusiastic members of the community, volunteers and the garden management group.
The group was guided through three activities, by Mel Kaese from Emerge Clinical Hypnotherapy and Mindset Training to prompt thinking about how our life experiences can affect how we think and act around others.
The wide range of ages and backgrounds shared a diverse range of responses.
The session concluded with a preview of emerging ideas for the garden design and a walk around the space to see the progress so far.
The group has received a grant from Sunshine Coast Council for initial irrigation works so things are starting to take shape in the grounds of the Glass House Community Hall.
The group is seeking funding for materials from local businesses to help bring the dreams alive. Everyone received a packet of seeds to take home as a token of appreciation.
