THE Glass House Mountains Community Hall is preparing for another busy year of community events after members gathered last Sunday to map out an exciting calendar for 2027.
Representatives from the Glass House Mountains Community Garden, Clever Crafters and the Second Stitch Collective joined the hall’s executive committee for the planning meeting, while Glass House State School P&C representative Jen attended to discuss new collaborative events.
The school P&C is now partnering with the hall to co-host community activities, including Trivia Nights and the upcoming Bogan Bingo event, strengthening ties between local organisations.
Hall president David said creating opportunities for people to connect remained at the heart of everything the committee planned.
“An aim of the Hall is to build a connected, strong and resilient community,” he said. “We use this as a foundation, along with feedback from our community, to guide our event planning.”
Plans for 2027 include the return of popular favourites such as Neighbours Day celebrations, trivia nights, Sconetime gatherings, garage sales, sewing destashes, clothes swaps and a community bush dance.
While next year’s calendar is taking shape, the hall still has a full schedule of activities planned for the remainder of 2026.
Upcoming events include the Glass House Mountains Community Garden’s first birthday celebration on August 8, Bogan Bingo on August 29, a Clothes Swap on September 5, a Garage Sale on October 17, a Sewing Destash on November 7 and the Glass House Mountains Community Collective Christmas Party on December 12.
Regular community activities also continue throughout the year. Community Garden volunteers meet on the first Saturday of each month, while Sewcial Sewing and Sustainable Sewing sessions are held monthly. Clever Crafters gather every Friday morning, and the hall also hosts yoga and line dancing classes run by local instructors.
Hall organisers encourage residents to get involved, whether by volunteering, attending events or joining one of the regular groups, with details available through the GHM Community Hall’s Facebook and Instagram pages and the local What’s On listings.
