Community morning of conscious crafting

AFTER the success of their first destash, Second Stitch Collective is once again bringing the creative community together to sell, browse, and shop pre-loved craft and sewing supplies.

On Saturday May 23, Second Stitch Collective and Glass House Mountains Community Hall are hosting a vibrant morning of community, creativity, and conscious crafting.

The Sewing Destash is a fun and affordable way to buy and/or sell pre-loved fabrics, patterns, notions, tools and other craft supplies. It’s perfect for quilters, sewists, crafters, and textile lovers of all kinds.

People wanting to destash can book a table for just $20 and sell their unused fabric, notions, and sewing supplies.

Shoppers can expect an abundance of craft and fabric stalls showcasing a treasure trove of pre-loved modern and vintage fabrics, notions, yarns, tools, and handmade supplies at bargain prices. Entry to the event is free.

All proceeds from stall bookings go to the Glass House Mountains Community Hall. Remember to bring cash.

“We received wonderful feedback from our first destash,” said Second Stitch Collective co-founder Debbie Ives “people told us they enjoyed connecting with others who love sewing and they felt good about saving money while reducing textile waste.”

The Sewing Destash is on from 8am to 11am on Saturday May 23 at the Glass House Mountains Community Hall, 8 Coonowrin Rd, GHM.

The Hall will be selling morning tea and the Community Garden will be open for all to enjoy.

Table numbers are limited and selling fast. To book a stall or find out more, email second.stitch.collective@gmail.com.
