Q: Tell us about yourself?
A: Yes, okay, well, my name is Summer. I work at the Glass House, IGA. I’ve worked here for about a year now, maybe a bit less, but I heard about it because I have a lot of family, friends that actually work here. And they were like, come over. It’s a great team. And it’s since I’ve been here, I’ve been really loving it. So that’s really cool.
Q: In the Glass House Mountains is there anything you like to do?
A: Yeah, I love going up to the lookouts and the mountains that we do have here, they’re gorgeous. We’ve got, like, the actual glass house mountains lookout, where you can go up and you can see all of the mountains from the one spot. It’s stunning. And then you can obviously do the mountain climbs themselves. A lot of them are quite sacred, so you can’t climb them. However Ngun Ngun and Tibro, I believe, have been cleared with elders from the community that is welcome to be open for walking and things like that, which is awesome. And then I guess you’ve also got, like, all of the tracks are here. You can get all the way to Beerburrum and by foot from the tracks. It’s just like wildlife everywhere, awesome people, you can walk back and forth. So it’s just like, it’s a really awesome little community. I love it here.
Q: Can you speak a bit more about the community, anything specific?
A: I mean, I’m quite new to, I guess, the community here, per se, like as in, everyone that knows each other I know, like a lot of people I went to school with, and their parents and things like that.
But it’s so warm and welcoming. It doesn’t even feel like that, like even being here for six months and coming to the IGA, you have all of our locals that come in, and they get to know your name really quickly, and they’re really kind.
