For a community built around connection, the opening of the Nirimba Drive Bridge is a milestone worth celebrating.
Now open and already becoming part of everyday life, the new bridge and 320-metre road extension create a vital link between the neighbouring suburbs of Nirimba and Banya.
Spanning across the Aura Brook, the bridge links Nirimba Drive to Banya Avenue, improving access for motorists while making it easier and safer for pedestrians and cyclists to move through the community.
Stockland Aura Senior Development Manager, Genaea Keith, said the bridge is already delivering immediate benefits while supporting Aura’s long-term vision for a well-connected, active and accessible city.
“Nirimba Drive Bridge is about making everyday life easier for locals, by creating quicker, safer and more convenient ways to travel between neighbourhoods and the places people visit every day, such as schools, parks and local services,” Genaea said.
With the bridge now open, children and parents can walk across to Nirimba State Primary School, with a dedicated cycling path to follow, helping make the school run a simpler and more enjoyable part of the day.
Designed to support two-way vehicle traffic, the bridge features 1.8-metre-wide pedestrian paths on each side, along with a dedicated three-metre-wide veloway for cyclists.
While the road connection is now open, the veloway is scheduled to open in March once final works on the eastern side of the bridge are complete.
