Connection road sealed and delivered

A Palmwoods connection road has been sealed and delivered, ready for motorists to enjoy.

Sunshine Coast Council Division 5 councillor Winston Johnston said council was dedicated to improving the safety of Citrus Rd for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

“This road upgrade is vital in keeping our small communities, residents and local businesses connected and safe,” Cr Johnston said.

“The unsealed ‘missing link’ spanning 950 metres between Wilkins Lane and Eudlo School Rd has been upgraded to improve safety in line with road design and safety standards.”

The works included improving the alignment of the road as well as widening to provide one lane each way with a road shoulder on each side.

“The works have also enhanced road conditions and, importantly, line of sight for road users which was a critical component of this major upgrade,” Cr Johnston said.

“This is an important travelling route connecting the Palmwoods and Eudlo communities and is a high priority for council to make sure everyone continues to benefit and enjoy our unique urban and rural lifestyles.

The works are part of council’s Unsealed Roads Upgrade Plan contributing $100,000 from council.

The project is funded by the Australian Government’s $2.2 million provided through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program.
