Conondale choir conductor wins award

Conondale’s Kim Kirkman has won the IAgeWell Senior Leadership Award 2022 for dedication and service to helping seniors find their voice and healing through song.

Kim has been conducting choirs and teaching singing on the Sunshine Coast for 10 years.

He is also a well known harpist, violinist and singer.

“I love holding day-time choirs where those who don’t want to drive at night can come and enjoy their singing. There are no auditions, everyone is welcome,” Kim said.

Singing has been proven to help mental and physical health.

“There are also big benefits when it comes to social connections and community,” said Kim. “Now is a great time to join as we are starting all new Christmas repertoire.”
