Creativity, connection and community

Library + Caloundra opens its doors for all

Library+ Caloundra, the Sunshine Coast’s newest cultural hub, has officially opened, offering the community a multi-level space designed to transform how locals experience and use libraries. The launch celebration on Monday, September 22, marked the unveiling of the facility as part of the evolving Caloundra Community and Creative Hub.

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli said the project was the result of years of planning, consultation, and community collaboration. “This completes the transformation of the former Caloundra Administration Building into a vibrant, inclusive, and future-focused space,” she said.

The two-level library features a children’s zone with play spaces and reading cubbies, dedicated quiet areas, flexible seating, AV booths, digital studios for recording, creative workshop spaces, and an exhibition area. Additional amenities include a ground-floor coffee shop, after-hours collection service, outdoor reading area, ten meeting rooms, and community venues.

Library+ Caloundra is open:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8.30am–5pm
  • Thursday: 8.30am–7pm
  • Saturday: 9am–3pm
  • Sunday: 9am–1pm

The facility is located at 1 Omrah Avenue, Caloundra, and is set to become a cornerstone for study, storytelling, creativity, and community connection.
