Glasshouse Little Athletics superstar, Estah Muller, impressed at her second ever Little Athletics National Championships in javelin and discus, and snagged a gold and silver medal respectively.
The competition, held in Adelaide on Saturday and Sunday, April 26–27, featured athletes participating in a range of disciplines from all around Australia.
Estah’s scores for each discipline was 34:17 for discus which was a PB for her, and in javelin scored 38:97.
Estah’s dad, Matthew Muller, said she put a huge effort in, with results most kids would dream of achieving after only doing it for two years.
“She’s achieved a fair bit within two years of already doing it, she usually competes in all of the throwing events,” he said.
“We are very proud of her because she’s achieving a lot more than we thought she would be in such a short amount of time doing it.
“We’re supporting her whichever way she goes in life and will keep supporting in everything she is doing.”
Matthew added that despite making it to nationals last year, she has improved even further this year.
“The last year we went down, she had three fails in discus, but this time she went with a different mindset, and came away with a silver medal,” he said.
Estah has a busy upcoming season of athletics, and has also been performing at a high level in volleyball and beach volleyball.
“We came home on Monday and on Tuesday she was already back into her training, she wants to put her mindset into her magic numbers, and if she can achieve them then she’s happy,” he said.
“In September, the all schools competitions will kick off for athletics, and she’s doing school volleyball, she represented Queensland in beach volleyball.”
At her most recent volleyball competition for GCC her team won silver, and at beach volleyball they placed 7th out of 17 teams.
