First Nations arts businesses receive Grants

Eleven Queensland-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts businesses have been awarded a total of $104,541 in First Nations Arts Business Grants to enhance their capacity and business skills. The grants will support a diverse range of cultural enterprises, including visual and performing arts, cultural tourism experiences, jewellery, and fashion.

The funding will enable businesses to grow in anticipation of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with recipients using the funds for business planning, digital platforms, and expanding their product offerings. Notable grant recipients include Erub Arts, Hopevale Arts and Culture Centre, and Torres Strait Kaziw Meta Inc.

Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch highlighted the role of First Nations arts in Queensland’s economy and cultural identity. “These grants will help elevate First Nations arts and cultural products ahead of the global spotlight on Queensland in 2032,” she said.
