AMBASSADORS from Friendship Force Nagasaki were welcomed last month with a barbecue brunch to begin a week of cultural exchange and friendships. They stayed in the homes of the coast members and were immersed in a full and varied program of activities.
Highlights for the Japanese ambassadors were getting close to our native wildlife at Wildlife HQ and feeding the camels at QCamels. Lunch at the Beerwah pub and visiting a pineapple farm were very new experiences for them. Although the weather was wet, they enjoyed the rainforest walk, sighting a pademelon, in Mary Cairncross Conservation Reserve followed by a tour of the hinterland and lunch at Montville.
They also explored the Noosa area with a cruise on the river.
This month, 14 members from the Sunshine Coast will travel to Germany.
