Get ready for an even newer look Glasshouse Tavern

EXCITEMENT is building in Glass House Mountains and – just for a change of focus – it’s not Christmas related.

Plans for a new alfresco dining area and interactive children’s playground at the Glasshouse Tavern have been lodged with the Sunshine Coast Council for assessment and approval.

Recently purchased and renovated by Bayblue Management Pty Ltd – owner of the Beerwah and Palmwoods hotels – the designs show that more than 100m2 of covered casual dining is planned to extend from the existing building front out to the Reed Street footpath.

Parents will be able to watch their kids playing in the new outdoor playground area at the eastern end of the building. And the kids will be excited to see that they can climb directly into the playground area from inside the kids’ zone through large slide-tubes coming in and out of the wall.

Additional changes include extending the south-eastern corner of the building to accommodate additional toilet facilities and adding five new car parking bays.

If the speed of the redevelopment is anything to go by, once the plans are approved by council it will be no time at all before we’ll have a fresh and new looking Reed Street that will no doubt boost the overall visitor attractiveness of the Glass House business centre.
