Glasshouse Plantation appoints first in-house chef

Glasshouse Plantation, a working coffee farm located in the heart of the Glass House Mountains, has announced the appointment of its first in-house chef, marking a significant milestone in its continued growth and evolution.
Renowned for its picturesque setting featuring 5,000 Arabica coffee trees, Glasshouse Plantation has built a reputation as a unique destination where agriculture, hospitality, and natural beauty meet.
The introduction of an in-house chef reflects a commitment to further enhancing the experience offered to visitors, with the on-farm café now opening five days a week, Thursday-Monday, all year round.
The Plantation’s new chef, Ilario Duo, has developed a menu that draws inspiration from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Australian grown coffee, with a strong focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Mr Duo, who has lived and worked as a chef in Australia for the past 10 years, comes from Venice where he grew up working in his family’s hospitality businesses. Inspired by his Italian heritage, Mr Duo’s menu aims to complement the Plantation’s own coffee, celebrating the connection between food, place, and produce.
His appointment represents a significant investment in both people and place, reinforcing Glasshouse Plantation’s long-term vision to offer exceptional experiences in one of Queensland’s most distinctive locations.
Farm tours and tasting experiences showcasing the terroir of Australian grown coffee will continue to be offered in 2026, together with new experiences including Hatha yoga and coffee on Saturday mornings.
Glasshouse Plantation looks forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy this exciting new chapter and to experience the elevated dining offering now available.
