Gold Coast to host one of Australia’s largest eco-parklands

A 148-hectare eco-parkland is set to transform Currumbin, with plans unveiled to create new hiking trails, picnic areas, and wildlife rehabilitation facilities.

Backed by a $31 million investment over three years, the project aims to enhance the Gold Coast’s reputation as a tourism destination while preserving native bushland and wildlife.

The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has already established a koala fodder plantation, with the eco-parkland also set to include a new koala facility, a vet unit, and wetland restoration areas.
