It has been a strong start to the year for the Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce.
On February 13, more than 30 women gathered at Glasshouse Plantation for our first Women in Business lunch of 2026.
A week later, our Business Backstage event at Masterpiece Dance’s new Beerwah premises welcomed another 30 attendees, where we explored what it truly means to scale a business while navigating growth
in a changing town centre.
There is no doubt Glasshouse Country is evolving. Development is visible. Infrastructure is progressing. Investment is accelerating.
While some of that change can feel confronting, particularly when it is happening right in front of us, it also brings opportunity.
Our role as a Chamber is not to react to change with fear, but to lead with clarity. Clear communication matters.
When information gaps exist, misinformation can take hold.
Over the coming weeks we are meeting with key stakeholders including Kendle Morton MP, representatives from the B2N rail project and the Department of Transport and Main Roads, while continuing dialogue with Council and tourism leaders.
We are committed to ensuring our business community has access to accurate information and constructive engagement.
The key question is not whether growth is coming. It is whether we are ready for it.
On March 3, at Beerwah Hotel, we will launch our Strategic Action Plan at our Chamber event, Glasshouse Country: What’s Next.
The evening will feature regional leaders who are shaping what lies ahead, including Mal Brough, Andrew Astorquia, Matt Stoeckel, Cr Jenny Broderick and Mandy Day.
This is a conversation about opportunity, readiness and leadership.
If you’re in Local Business and care about the future of this region and your place within it, I encourage you to join us.
