AS Christmas rolls around yet again, the Landsborough Area Community Association (LACA) is encouraging residents to donate items for its annual Christmas hampers.
For the past few years, the group, which operates at the Morris House Neighbourhood Centre, has been putting together Christmas hampers for those doing it tough.
LACA secretary Ann Husband said the hampers went a long way in making this time of year a little more joyful for those who might be struggling.
“Everyone who receives these hampers are incredibly grateful and quite overwhelmed. They usually say that they didn’t expect to receive things this nice,” Ann said.
Although regular food items such as tinned spaghetti and pasta are welcome, this year the group would love to see more Christmas-themed items donated such as shortbread biscuits and puddings.
Anyone who would like to donate can drop items off at the Morris House Neighbourhood Centre at 478 Old Landsborough Road by Friday, December 10.
Hampers will be available to be picked up from December 13-16.
