Queenslanders are invited to contribute to an independent review into the prescribing of puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormone therapies within public paediatric gender services.
The review, led by Professor Ruth Vine, will examine both the medical evidence and ethical considerations involved in Stage 1 and Stage 2 treatments for children experiencing gender dysphoria.
Submissions are open from May 29 to July 29, 2025.
Queensland Health Director-General Dr David Rosengren said the review is being held because the evidence supporting these therapies remains contested.
