THE end of year school holidays in Queensland are in full swing now with the major holidays throughout the break including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, have already come and gone.

With less than a month to go until families send their kids back to school, the Sunshine Coast Council have highlighted worthy parks across the Hinterland to take your kids to before the holidays end.

These hidden gems which were named and located in the Hinterland include Russell Family Park in Montville and Turner Park in Beerwah.

The Council’s spokesperson praised the facilities in Russell Family Park, which has been newly developed to improve the experience for visiting families.

“Russell Family Park is a place that actively connects park-goers to their environment – giving children the opportunity to explore the outdoors and build on their social skills,” the spokesperson said.

“…The park offers lots of opportunity for play in a natural setting, with large grassy hills, mature trees, an environmental walk, and a range of wildlife for children to experience.”

Beerwah’s Turner Park has also been praised by the council as another great nature based park in the Hinterland, and said it was perfect for younger children.

“[Turner Park is] surrounded by fig trees and gardens, the playground includes a winding spiral slide, impressive climbing tower, flying fox, swings, and accessible carousel, imaginative play shop and car, perfect for the little ones,” the spokesperson said.

“Take your time and explore the area that includes the Beerwah Library, ANZAC memorial and Beerwah Heart Precinct and pack a picnic to enjoy in the shaded picnic areas.”
