GOOD work on the Federal Treasurer looking into his crystal ball and talking inflation down to a respectable level by the end of the year.
And so it should. Households and businesses are doing it tough, yet last week the RBA was still saying it wouldn’t rule more rises in or out.
Most of us actually can’t stop spending much more.
Talk from the RBA should send a shiver down the spine. There might not have been a mortgage cliff to date, but the pain is here, it’s real and it’s only increasing.
Lastly, when it’s petrol that’s a major driver of inflation, well how can anyone possibly counter that? Buy an expensive EV? I doubt it.
GET IT RIGHT
Surely Home Invasion 101 is to double check the address before you get down to business.
Measure twice, cut once, if you’re a tradie. Alas you’re not talking about the sharpest tools in the shed.
What a shocker for the couple minding their own business in Beerwah last year only to have six goons burst in and beat them senseless.
Hope the judge sends these idiots to the right address when he sentences them.
BORE GUY
I don’t do too many movie reviews in this column. The last one was The Whale. What was I thinking. But last weekend I had to babysit a bunch of kids, which involved taking them to the Ryan Gosling-Emily Blunt movie Fall Guy. What a shemozzle of nonsense. And with an A-list cast to boot.
It shouldn’t but still does surprise me that Hollywood produces such tripe.
The film fails on every level. An explosive mess of ideas, picked from a thousand other movies, but then failed to replicate with any sense of comprehension. Avoid.
