Three of the patriarchs who are not only proud members of the Landsborough Tennis Club, but also the “Octogenarian Club”.
Peter Markwort 83, Andy Schouteten 81and Peter Gaw 80 (the junior of the trio), were delighted to be at the launch of the Junior Aces program. Pictured with the senior gents are budding juniors – Abbey 8, Sammy 5 and Hayden 7.
The launch was wonderfully received by the local community which saw 28 juniors aged 5 – 15 participate in the first of its kind pilot program.
Club president Dan Black said “ I am delighted with the tremendous turn out and enthusiasm from not only the participants but the parents as well for the 12 week complimentary program.
A very welcome reprieve from the onslaught of rising costs for families at this time.
It would not have been possible to stage the event if not for the generous support of the local business community who included Maleny Credit Union, IGA Landsborough and the Landsborough Hotel and the continued support of Tennis Queensland”.
