Ian and Elaine Davie aren’t just thinking about their next move — they’ve already set it in motion.

“We’re not moving far at all,” Ian says. “It’s only a couple of kilometres from where we are now and the access to the train lets us see our children who are in Brisbane.”

Downsizing from a larger property was a key part of the decision. After years of upkeep, the idea of a low-maintenance home was hard to pass up. “We won’t be changing our lifestyle too much.” Ian says.
“Except for gardening. We’ll be out enjoying the facilities and making the most of everything that’s there instead.” The couple add that moving to a boutique resort was highly attractive.
“Because of its size, I think it will be more friendly and easier for everyone to join in on the activities.”
What truly stood out, however, was the sense of community. The Davies won’t be giving up their RV travel but are keen to stay active in whatever the community offers. For Elaine, the opportunity to be part of a welcoming and growing neighbourhood was a major drawcard. “I’m really looking forward to the sense of community,” she says. “It’ll be a growing side of Living Gems.”
As passionate members of the Broncos and active people, Ian and Elaine are moving with a positive mindset and are eager to get involved — whether it’s lawn bowls, the gym, or simply connecting with neighbours.
“We’ll get to know people, and people will get to know us,” Ian says. “We can organise activities with a couple of neighbours within the complex.”
With thoughtful inclusions already part of the home design, there was little need for complicated decisions.
“It was all very straightforward,” Elaine says. “Everything’s done for you, which makes a big difference when you’re making a move like this. I have no qualms about moving.”
Ian agrees, adding, “There’s already so much included in the home. I didn’t have to make a lot of decisions, which made it simple.”
