LIAM Pope won his fourth professional bout in convincing style against debutant Broby Martin by TKO in the first round at the Beerwah Community Hall on September 9.
It was Pope’s first TKO in his professional boxing career, knocking out Martin in just two minutes and 29 seconds after a grand entrance into the ring.
It came after a disappointing loss earlier in the year where he went the distance despite breaking his hand in the early rounds.
Liam said he had completely recovered and was pumped for his next fight.
“We toned the training down in the last week to let my body recover… I’m really excited,” he said.
It was a great night of fights from Hinterland Boxing, with 11 bouts including amateur, corporate, and professional level fights, and there were seven boxers representing the Hinterland Boxing Club.
Pope’s next fight is going to be in October against the current WBC Oceania Title holder, however the official date has not been confirmed yet.
