LNP’s $50k pledge for Glass House Men’s Shed

The Glass House Men’s Shed will receive $50,000 to replace shade sheds with a permanent extension under a re-elected Morrison Government, the LNP announced today.

The $50,000 pledge will see the replacement of the existing external shade sheds with a permanent extension, improving the security and longevity of the Shed’s tools and machinery, and better ensuring the safety of members and visitors.

Federal Member for Fisher and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Andrew Wallace, said that this commitment was good news for men in the Glasshouse community, but also for the many local community groups who are supported by the Men’s Shed.

“Tony, Ian and the team at the Glasshouse Country Men’s Shed have a done a fantastic job at building a place for blokes to build, eat, chat and make a difference in their local community,” Mr Wallace said.

“I am proud to have been able to secure this support from a re-elected Liberal National Government, which will enable the Shed to expand their work in creating a hub to boost men’s mental health in the hinterland.”

President of Glasshouse Country Men Shed, Tony Debrincat, welcomed the announcement as a game-changer for the club and the local community.

“We were very pleased when Andrew shared the good news with us and appreciate what he has done to support us and groups like ours over the years,” said Mr Debrincat.

“Our club is expanding what we’re doing, and who we are able to reach. We are so much more than a woodworking club. This significant renovation will allow us to continue to grow safely for many years to come.”
