Local receives Queen’s Birthday honour

MEDIATOR of the year, conflict resolution practitioner, and Australian author and poet, Tom Stodulka, has made the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
The Landsborough mediation specialist was among 157 inspirational Queenslanders recognised for their contribution to the health, wellbeing and progress of Australia.

Recipients included a diverse range of Australians from church leaders, aged welfare advocates and public administrators to medical educators, researchers, law practitioners and arts workers.
Tom was one of 32 Queenslanders appointed Members of the Order (AM) in the General Division for his significant service to the law, and to mediation and dispute resolution.

In his professional life Tom has achieved a highly impressive career as a mediator that has seen him facilitate more than 4,000 legal disputes within Australia.
He has previously been awarded the prestigious title of 2020 Facilitator of the Year at the Australian Alternative Dispute Resolution Awards, as well as the 2019 Australasian Law Awards Mediator of the Year.

Drawing on his extensive insights into the human condition honed after decades of experience in the law and working as a professional peacemaker, in his personal life Tom is also an acclaimed poet and published author.
