ROTARY Club of Maleny’s humanitarian support for war-torn Ukraine has taken a significant step forward after renewed contact was established with its partner club in Cherkasy following months of communication difficulties.
Club member Bruce Kelly said the breakthrough came after receiving a letter from Rotary Club Cherkasy-Centre president Oksana Khriapak (pictured) requesting assistance to supply 10 EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max portable power stations for frontline hospitals treating people affected by the war.
The equipment would be used exclusively for humanitarian purposes in the Cherkasy region. Mr Kelly thanked the Maleny and Hinterland community for its continued generosity, saying local fundraising efforts had made the support possible. He said the club remained committed to assisting Ukraine through its Rotary partnerships.
