THE iconic Kings Beach Ocean Pool has reopened to the public following a significant refurbishment aimed at improving safety, appearance and long-term durability.
The Sir Francis Nicklin Memorial Pool was closed from April 20 while construction crews completed a major upgrade, with the facility now welcoming swimmers back. The works included a full resurfacing of the 25-metre seawater pool, new tiles and grates, refreshed lane markings, corrosion treatment and servicing of pool infrastructure.
Sunshine Coast Council said the improvements would enhance the swimming experience and help protect the popular coastal facility for years to come.
Located at the northern end of Kings Beach, the ocean pool open from 4am-9pm daily remains a favourite destination for exercise, recreation and family swimming.
