THE Sunshine Coast Multicultural Advisory Group is inviting community members from diverse cultural backgrounds to apply for membership.
This voluntary group works closely with the council to address the challenges and opportunities faced
by the region’s multicultural communities.
It also plays a key role in promoting cultural diversity and inclusion, aiming to make the Sunshine Coast a more welcoming region for all.
The group has supported several important initiatives, including the Welcoming City project, the Shine a Light on Racism campaign, and the Migrant Work Ready and Business Ready programs.
Strong Community Portfolio Councillor David Law emphasised the value of having community voices in the group and urged those with strong ties to multicultural communities to apply.
Members meet six times a year to provide guidance and input.
Expressions of interest are open until August 21.
